A man in the U.S. Navy who is soon to be deployed pretended to overdose at his Bremerton home June 18, which caused his wife to call police.
When police arrived at the couple’s residence in the 1200 block of Lansing Avenue at about 9:58 a.m., the 23-year-old man said the two were having marital issues but were not fighting or arguing. His plan was to feign an overdose by pretending to take some pills. Instead of consuming the pills, he placed them into a napkin and set them on a table.
The man’s 21-year-old wife confirmed his story and said she called 9-1-1 because she thought he actually consumed the pills. The police found the pills on the table as the man described. The man admitted that the plan was stupid and he had no intention to harm or kill himself.
