A 35-year-old Bremerton woman suffered a stroke while driving three children in Mason County June 11 and ran into a guardrail, but one of the youths was able to grab the steering wheel and prevent major injuries.
The woman was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram pickup south on U.S. Highway 101 about four miles south of Shelton when the seizure occurred, according to a State Patrol statement.
The truck crossed the fog line and struck the guardrail.
In the vehicle were a 15-year-old Bremerton girl, a 10-year-old Belfair girl and a 9-year-old Lacey girl.
State Patrol spokeswoman Trooper Krista Hedstrom said the child riding in the passenger seat took the wheel when the seizure struck the driver.
The driver was taken to Mason General Hospital in Shelton.
No injuries were reported as a result of the wreck.
