Body found in waters near Port Orchard Yacht Club

No details released about the individual, but foul play isn’t suspected

PORT ORCHARD — An unidentified body was discovered yesterday afternoon in waters near the Port Orchard Yacht Club, Police Chief Matt Brown said Wednesday morning.

Brown said police detectives are investigating circumstances surrounding the case, but indicated that foul play was not suspected. “There’s nothing to indicate anything suspicious,” Brown said.

He said Port Orchard Police Department officials were notified around 2 p.m. Tuesday. He didn’t disclose the sex of the subject or any other identifiable information but said more information would be forthcoming when details emerge.
