Kasem, who had been reported missing earlier this week by his children, was found vacationing with his wife in a friend’s home after Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) did a welfare check as requested by California Adult Protective Services.

Around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, KCSO received a phone call from California’s Adult Protective Services to “conduct a welfare check on Mr. Casey Kasem,” said KCSO Spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson.

A location–still undisclosed–was provided by APS of where Kasem was believed to be staying. For 45 minutes, deputies interviewed the home’s occupants where Kasem and his wife, Jean, are “vacationing,” noted Wilson.

“It wasn’t just a peek in the door,” he said.

Everyone in the home was cooperative, and deputies met with Kasem and his wife and primary caregiver.

“He was fine. He was alert; he was breathing and was not distressed,” said Wilson. “There was nothing suspicious and certainly nothing criminal.”

In other news reports, Kasem’s health has been in question, and it’s been reported that the former “America’s Top 40” radio host has a form of dementia and poor health.

According to Kerri Kasem’s Twitter report, the daughter of Kasem wrote, “We are grateful to local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home.”
