Bellringer passes $20,000 mark

POULSBO — Little Garrett Lehmann didn’t have much from doing chores for his parents, but he gave it to Bellringer anyway. Garrett’s $1.03 plus $45.96 from his four siblings helped push the fund over the $20,000 mark while Karl and Kelly Hadley from Studio City, Calif., issued a challenge for Bill Gates with their $1,000 donation. Will the Bellevue billionaire come through as his father, Bill Sr., is a Kitsap County native? Hopefully and so will a whole host of donors as Bellringer moves toward its $30,000 goal.

By 9 a.m. Thursday, Bellringer had collected $7,426.99, which is another huge step forward.

Mike’s Car Wash in Poulsbo remains in the giving spirit as owner Mike Brooks is once again donating a portion of his proceeds this month to give the fund a boost.

Bellringer, a part of the Raab Foundation, which is administered by the Poulsbo Noon Lions Club, provides one-time assistance of food, help with bills, emergency transportation and Christmas food baskets through North Kitsap Fishline.

Donations to the fund can be dropped off at the Kitsap Bank branch in Poulsbo or the North Kitsap Herald office, 18887 State Route 305, Suite 700. Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370.

The help number for the fund is (360) 697-6087.
