A Silverdale bar employee was arrested for identity theft March 26 after reportedly taking a customer’s prepaid credit card.

A few days earlier, the owner of the card called law enforcement to report a series of unauthorized charges made on the prepaid Mastercard he accidentally left at the Old Town Bistro, according to reports from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies obtained surveillance photos of the 28-year-old woman suspected of taking the card by reviewing footage from the Silverdale Way Circle K where she made purchases. Old Town Bistro owners were cooperative in helping law enforcement identify the woman, who was also suspected of stealing co-workers’ tips.

The woman was arrested at her home in the 8100 block of Knute Lane, claiming the customer gave her the card as a tip. She was taken to Kitsap County jail for investigation of identity theft.
