Authorities investigating ‘suspicious death’ in Kingston

KINGSTON — Authorities have not yet released the identity of a body found in a residence of the 27700 block of Resource Ridge Avenue NE in Kingston.

In a statement released Thursday evening, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Wilson, a spokesman for the department, stated the individual appears to be an adult male.

Deputies arrived at the residence at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, responding to a neighbor’s request for a welfare check.

The release stated the occupant of the house hadn’t been seen for several days.

When deputies arrived at and entered the home, they found the body inside.

Wilson said once the identity of the body is confirmed, authorities will notify the next of kin. Once next of kin is notified, authorities will release the name to the public.

“As the cause of death is unknown, investigators are handling the investigation as a suspicious death, until further information is developed,” according to the statement. “A concurrent investigation is being conducted by the Kitsap County coroner.”

The Washington State Patrol Crime Response Team is assisting in the investigation.
