The Admiral Theatre in Bremerton has added a special program to the schedule, “Through the Eyes of a Friend: The Story of Anne Frank,” presented by Living Voices

of Seattle, 7 p.m. March 1.

The program combines live theater with historic video to tell the history of Holocaust victim Anne Frank, through the eyes of her best friend, Sarah.

Living Voices is a nonprofit organization which works to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive.

Sarah is a fictional composite character representing the experiences and testimonies of individuals who knew Anne Frank, as well as other young people who survived the Holocaust.

Sarah is portrayed as the daughter of an average German family who immigrates to Holland when the Nazis come to power. There she befriends Anne Frank.

The story follows the two teens through their Holocaust experience, although Sarah survives and Anne Frank dies in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp.

After immigrating to America, Sarah is sent a copy of Anne’s diary, and she realizes that she “must never forget,” which is the vow of Living Voices and others to keep the memory of the Holocaust alive, to honor those who died and prevent it from happening again.

The performance is suitable for all ages, and is frequently performed for school groups.

“Through the Eyes of a Friend” plays 7 p.m. March 1 at the Admiral Theatre, 515 Pacific Ave., Bremerton.

Tickets are $7.50, all seats reserved, available at the box office or by phone at (360) 373-6743. wu
