Amy’s On The Bay is on the market

PORT ORCHARD — Amy’s On The Bay, a popular Bay Street restaurant with a view of Sinclair Inlet, has been put on the market by owner Amy Creed.

Also put up for sale is Sidelines, the adjoining restaurant that Creed opened in January. Creed said the the business was listed Sept. 30 with Old Town Realty, owned by broker Donn Hughes. The sales price of $550,000 is for the businesses and does not include the building, which is owned by El Dorado Hills Co.

Creed purchased Amy’s On The Bay in March 2006.

The restaurant is one of Bay Street’s prime businesses, bringing in 80,000 customers last year.

“Business has been awesome, absolutely wonderful,” Creed said. “But I have shifting priorities at this point. I want to focus on my family — and to grow my family.”

Creed, her husband and 19-month-old daughter live in Port Orchard, but she said the family may move elsewhere in the future. “We’re taking things one step at a time,” she said.

Creed said several potential buyers have contacted her broker, and some have visited the restaurant.

The owner-operator of Amy’s has been active in the Port Orchard community. She said she’s attempting to cut down on the number of board of directorship seats she has. Right now, Creed said, she serves on six boards.

While she’s getting ready to shift gears, Creed said operating a restaurant in the future is a distinct possibility.

“I will absolutely do this again,” she said. “The best part of the work has been the staff.”

The restaurants employ 29 employees, she said.

“My hope is that the new owners will be involved in our community,” Creed said. “It’s a wonderful place to do business in.”
