iPod debate sparks fight, Poulsbo teen arrested

A 17-year-old Poulsbo teenager was arrested Wednesday and booked for second-degree assault after a family fight over an iPod broke out between he and his sister last Tuesday.

Deputies were called to Silver Springs Lane at about 10 p.m. Dec. 23.

The 17-year-old, according to Kitsap County Sheriff’s reports, fled the scene after he allegedly punched his sister in the head and put her in a chokehold when she accused his friend of stealing her portable music device.

The victim, 20, told officers she thought her brother had been drinking when he attacked and physically thwarted her efforts to call police.

The brother, at 6-foot-4 and weighing more than 200 pounds, ran off when another sister called authorities.

The victim said “when he finally let her go she was gasping for air and struggling to breathe,” the report states.

Witnesses had similar accounts of the alleged attack, and the teen’s mother called authorities when the boy returned home the next day.

He was already on probation, and had a warrant for his arrest for being minor in possession.

And after a dozen shots of Jågermeister …

A 24-year-old Suquamish resident was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault Dec. 23 after engaging in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend the previous day.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Augusta Avenue in Suquamish Dec. 22 where a 46-year-old male reported he and his girlfriend had been drinking in Bremerton. He said the 24-year-old had “about 12 shots of Jågermeister.” He said when they returned to Suquamish he asked for her help while trying to fix something outside their home when she allegedly called him names and punched him in the mouth. Deputy reports also state the man showed marks on his arm that looked to be from a bite and his clothing was torn.

The woman, still inside the home when deputies arrived, was laying on the floor breathing rapidly. No injuries were found on or near her neck, where she reported being attacked. She was eventually taken to Harrison Medical Center after officers attempted to calm her.

“Also strewn about the floor was a bottle of Midol and what appeared to be an asthma inhaler,” the report says.

The woman had twice before been arrested for assault, one of the cases also including biting.

She was taken into custody on $10,000 bail after her release from the hospital the next day.
