KINGSTON — The Miss Kingston crown will once again be passed this Saturday to another young woman hoping to represent her town.
Reigning Miss Kingston Taylor Wall will watch as this year’s six hopefuls vie to carry on her crown and title.
“I always dreamed of how exciting it would be to be Miss Kingston, but only until I was able to live the dream did I learn how special it truly can be,” she said. “The poise, confidence, speaking skills, teamwork and so much more are all things that will never be forgotten.”
Wall recalled one of her favorite experiences, realizing that with the crown comes responsibility and the pressure of being a role model.
“Sitting on top of the Miata in a parade and seeing the eagerness of the young girls who look up to me is a heart-warming feeling that very few people get to experience,” she said. “Being in the spotlight and the focus of many young people is an exciting, yet humbling experience.”
In her time as Miss Kingston, Wall learned a lot about her community, about herself and life’s lessons. Most importantly, she advises others to strive and work hard to succeed — believe and achieve.
“All six of the contestants are wonderful young women and I honestly wish them all the best of luck on pageant night but more importantly in life and in their futures,” she said. “Don’t give up on any dream you have, because nothing is out of your reach. If you’re driven enough, you will succeed.”
Competing for the Miss Kingston title:
• Anika Kramberger, 17, is the daughter of Srecko and Janet Kramberger. A rising senior at Kingston High, she is ASB senior president and a football manager. She also participates in track and field. Her creative display will be a swing dance to “Jump Jive An Wail.”
• Danica Rasely, 17, is the daughter of Jeff and Jane Rasely. Rasely is a rising senior at KHS and is involved in cheerleading and yearbook. She participates in her church youth group and choir. She will be singing “Concrete Angel” by Martina McBride.
• Sierra Moon, 17, is the daughter of Ricky and Diane Moon. A rising senior at KHS, she is in track and field, gymnastics, and is Art Club president. Her creative display is a gymnastic dance routine to the opening theme song from “ Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery.”
• Eva Redfearn, 17, is the daughter of John & Teresita Redfearn. She is a rising senior at Kingston High. Besides helping with cardiac patients, she is involved in volleyball, video productions and will be playing tennis this year. She will be singing “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” by Ogie Alcasid.
• Catherine Pasculli, 17, daughter of Keith and Carla Pasculli, is a senior at Kingston in High School.
She is involved with her church, Race for the Cure, and holds down a part-time job. She will perform a dramatic monologue from Elizabeth I’s speech before the defeat of the Spanish Armada.
• Jordan Wall, 16, is the daughter of Michael and Brenda Wall. She is a rising sophomore at Kingston High School. Besides participating in Race for the Cure and Relay for life, she plays varsity basketball and is the Interact Club treasurer. She will be singing for her creative display.
