POULSBO — A 35-year-old man on a skateboard was struck by a pickup and declared dead at the scene late July 14 on the 3600 block of NE Lincoln Road.

The man’s identity had not been released the following morning. There was no evidence of impairment on the part of the driver, sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson said.

The driver, a 26-year-old North Kitsap man, was driving east on Lincoln Road and had just driven over a hill when his vehicle struck the pedestrian in the roadway. The incident occurred at 9:47 p.m. “during the hours of darkness,” Wilson said.

What the deceased man was wearing was not known.
