Cosmic Peepshow in Bremerton
Port Orchard-based, self-described “research artist” Ron Harper is at it again.
With another mind-bending art show of particle physics-meets-science fiction on canvas, he’s taking the main level showroom of Bremerton’s Collective Visions into another dimension this month.
“Visit the Midway of Infinities! … Experience the Walk-In Zenoscope! … See Digital Dimensional Warping and Unusual Sights!” the Cosmic Peepshow promises.
Zenoscope? What’s a zenoscope? Meet the artist and find out yourself, tonight from 5-9 p.m., on the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Bremerton.
To hear Harper’s acutely detailed, slightly eccentric explanation of the method behind his madness, somehow takes the art to that next dimension. Also this month at the CVG, ceramics artist Frank Carsey and acrylic painter Gail Hornsby collaborate in the attractively titled — “Wine, Women & Song.”

Animal Instincts and High Society
At the risk of sounding trite, Bainbridge’s Winslow galleries are letting the dogs out this month.
While canine, it’s not quite what you think.
Bainbridge Arts and Crafts (151 Winslow Way) unleashes its artists in “The Unexpected Dog” — a show stemming from the words of sardonic social sophisticate Fran Liebowitz: “No animal should ever jump up on the dining-room furniture unless absolutely certain that he can hold his own in the conversation.”
At BAC, the dogs will take over the dining room and speak for themselves through the work of Ken Brookner, Lynn Brunelle, Gennielynn Martin and many more. Just down the block, the new, smaller Roby King Galleries (176 Winlsow) also unleashes its artists on the animal kingdom in a show entitled “Animal Instinct.”
