HELP TRACK SALMON: Volunteers are needed help track salmon spawning in Bainbridge Island streams this fall. Teams will visit island streams once a week from early October through December in the fifth year of this program, which is sponsored by the Bainbridge Island Watershed Council, the city, the Suquamish Tribe, and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. Participants must be at least 14 years old and must be able to navigate uneven surfaces and slopes and cross streams on slippery logs. SOLAR TOUR: This is the largest real life demonstration of solar powered and energy efficient homes and non-residential buildings in the county, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3.
