CVG SHOW 2010: Entry is now open for Collective Visions Gallery’s statewide CVG Show. Jake Seniuk, director of the Port Angeles Fine Art Center is this year’s juror. AUDITIONS

BAINBRIDGE PERFORMING ARTS: Bainbridge Performing Arts is auditioning for its production, “The Grapes of Wrath.” Auditions for those 14 and older will be from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Nov. 16 and 17; auditions for those younger than 14 will be from 5-6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge. PLANETARIUM SHOW: At 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 the Battle Point Astronomers will host a planetarium show, “many moons,” at the Edwin E. Ritchie Observatory. The presentation will discuss the high-impact origin of Earth’s moon and why our noon is so large relative to the size of the Earth and the changes in our moon’s orbit. CHICO CREEK HIKE: Suquamish Tribe fisheries biologist Jay Zischke leads the first of two walks in the Chico Creek watershed to view the migration and spawning of salmon on Nov. 14. This 3 mile RT walk over up and down terrain also provides an opportunity to view an eagle’s nest and the largest Douglas fir in Kitsap County. Children are welcome. Limited to 15 participants. PORT GAMBLE RAMBLE: Millard Martin will lead this easy hike Nov. 15. Nearby, but surprisingly unknown to many hiking enthusiasts, is this 4,300-acre block of land belonging to Olympic Resource Management. The hike is six to eight miles on undulating terrain, planning to reach the old Port Gamble General Store and Museum for hot chili, soup, or ice cream. No participant limit.
