Manchester Festival coming up

The Annual Manchester Festival and Flea Market will be held Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Qaqad Stormwater Park in Manchester.

There will be a variety of items available for sale such as hand-sewn baby and children’s clothes, kid’s toys and cards, hand-fashioned jewelry and accessories, home fashions and décor, yard art, wood creations and more. Over 25 vendors will be participating.

Live music will be performed throughout the day featuring different artists every hour playing a variety of music from folk to country. There will also be barbecued hotdogs with chips and a beverage, as well as children’s activities and a few surprises.

Off-site parking has been added at the Manchester Community Church on Chester with a free shuttle bus to the festival site all day.

The festival is hosted by the Manchester Community Association and has been a summer event for 39 years. The celebration was started as a way of bringing the community together to acknowledge the unique nature of the neighborhood and to showcase local artisans and musicians.
