Kingston’s Drifters 2 pool team pockets championship

The North Kitsap 8-Ball Pool League celebrated another successful season at a league awards party May 3. Teams in the 2007-2008 league gathered at Portside Pub and Voodiez Bar & Grill to celebrate the season with an 8-Ball singles tournament, awards presentations, door prizes and Asian-themed buffet.

The North Kitsap 8-Ball Pool League celebrated another successful season at a league awards party May 3. Teams in the 2007-2008 league gathered at Portside Pub and Voodiez Bar & Grill to celebrate the season with an 8-Ball singles tournament, awards presentations, door prizes and Asian-themed buffet. Jay George took first place in the double-elimination singles 8-Ball tournament.

During the season, league play was held Tuesday evenings from October 2007 through April 2008. Teams from Kingston to Silverdale competed, alternating home play and traveling to the other team locations. When the final 8-ball dropped in league play, the team that had earned this year’s first place trophy and championship traveling trophy was Drifters 2, sponsored by Kingston’s Drifters Sports Bar & Grill, and co-sponsored by Kingston Crossing Chiropractic.

The 2007-2008 top teams were: first place champions, Drifters 2, sponsored by Drifters Sport Bar & Grill and Kingston Crossing Chiropractic; second place, Portside, sponsored by Portside Pub, Poulsbo; third place, Four Corners, sponsored by Four Corners Tavern, Poulsbo; and fourth place, Eagles, sponsored by Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3586, Poulsbo.
