Kingston cabin provides spooky setting | A Glance At The Past | November

Can you imagine this old building with the gnarled mossy tree beside it as a Haunted House? That has been its most recent use. Children have really enjoyed the experience.

This small building in Kingston was built sometime before 1909. It may even have been built as early as 1900. The story about it states that it was used as a temporary home until a larger permanent house could be built close by. R. S. Parkhurst is listed at the owner of the 130 acres and a house is in this location in the 1909 Plat Book owned by Elmer Longmate.

The current owner has placed a new roof on the building to protect the old cedar logs and boards.

Harriet Muhrlein is president of the Kingston Historical Society.
