The 33rd annual Indianola Strawberry Fest will be held 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 5 at Indianola Living Hope Foursquare Church.

Count on fresh, homemade shortcakes with local berries and real whipped cream. Spooner farms of Olympia provide fresh berries – so no tart frozen berries served.

All are welcome. Cost is $4.50 for a full-size portion and $2.50 for a half portion.

Entertainment includes old-time favorites by Pastor Rick Ellis and his dad (on his 90th birthday), country classics by Mino and Lexia Christante, and patriotic music by Leann Halbert-Love.

The Kingston Farmers Market, the lively and friendly weekly event in Mike Wallace Park at the Port of Kingston marina takes place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Don’t forget to drop in at the special Fourth of July market 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Music at the market this month features Marilyn Kay & Co. with a little bit of country July 5; Kel Schmitz with a down-home pop country flavor July 12; Soft Majesty, a 12-string pop duo July 19; and Cesar Medel with Latin-tinged flaminco classical music.

Hansville Fourth of July pancake extravaganza

The 39th annual Greater Hansville Community Center Fourth of July Pancake Breakfast is set to be a “red, white and blue extravaganza” and takes place 8-11:30 a.m. July 4 at the community center, located in Buck Lake Park.

Bring the family for a great breakfast before holiday festivities begin. Food and entertainment will be delivered by the Boot Scootin’ Grannies. The menu features pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs, fruit, juice and coffee.

Cost is $6 for adults, $4 for volunteers, $3 for children ages 3-10 and free for kids under age 3.
