Dateless in Bremerton

AFU hosts punk rock show for the Valentine’s Day hangover.

Not all of Cupid’s arrows are heart-shaped.

Among the love-tipped arrowheads in his quiver, there are also black-hearted and stone-tipped weapons of choice which the little angel born of chaos can use at his disposal.

It’s those arrows (and darts of our own device) that make Valentine’s not such a rosy affair for a lot of people.

Whether Valentine’s Day is a passionate success or a lonely defeat, none of it really matters the next day anyway. And with that thought in mind, Bremerton’s all ages Artists for Freedom and Unity will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Hangover in honor of the Dateless.

The Dateless in both the broken-hearted reject and the Converse-footed musical sense.

Dateless is a four-piece upbeat punk band out of Seattle that sings about romantic antics like having “two girls on my mind at anytime” and “coming over on a Thursday night with a six-pack of Beck’s and a lot on my mind.”

They’re coming over to Bremerton Friday night for a date with the always abrasive Y.I.A and Sour Diesel, along with a new band to the Bremer-scene, head-bangers’ beloved Madmartigan.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Feb. 15. All ages, $5 cover at the AFU Hall, 318 N. Callow Ave. in Bremerton.

Info: www.myspace.com/artistforfreedomandunity or call the hall (360) 782-1329.
