Dance Ensemble Northwest presents “In the Company of Women II” at Bainbridge Performing Arts

Kingston High School sophomore Alex Beaulieu will take part in an evening of classical and contemporary dance performed by a troupe of pre-professional dancers at Bainbridge Performing Arts on April 24-25 at 7:30 p.m. The works include “The Rite of Spring” in a new production by company director Michael Falotico. Set to the pounding rhythms of Igor Stravinsky, it is a celebration of a pagan society to assure the earth’s rebirth. Next, a light-hearted, upbeat “New Work” by Bainbridge Island artist Roxanne Foster is set to several contemporary compositions. Finally, “Dances for Mary of Burgundy,” a neo-classical work by Flemish composer Daniel Sternefeld, offers a reinterpretation of renaissance dances to round out the evening.

Tickets are $15 for adults; $10 for senior citizens and youth. Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA) is located at 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island. The performances include two intermissions and are suitable for all ages.
