Every year around this time, Silverdale’s Dance Arts Theatre struts its stuff.

The performing group sponsored by Irene’s School of Dance, a ballet-centric school also in Silverdale, is featured on the big stage of Bremerton Performing Arts for its second biggest production of the year each spring.

The spring production, though second to the annual performance of the “Nutcracker” which is basically required by holiday law, is a chance for the troupe to do something a little more outside the box.

Last year it was “Cinderella,” this year it’s going to be a collage, said company founder Irene Miller.

“GiGi,” a dance based on the 1958 motion picture musical set in Paris, France will be matched with the Joseph Bayer/Josef Hassreiter ballet “The Fairy Doll,” a dance based on the classic children’s tale “Peter and the Wolf” and a “Spring Bouquet” a collection of dances, depicting floral imagery, from the Dance Arts Theatre junior company.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. today and again at 2:30 p.m. April 13 at the Bremerton High School Performing Arts Center, 1500 13th St. in Bremerton. Tickets are $10 general, $6 for seniors and kids.
