Cloverleaf brings on the funny for charity

Yuck it up for disaster relief

A comedy show and silent auction at the Cloverleaf Sports Bar and Grill will benefit Disaster Response Northwest.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8. Tickets are $15 each or four for $50.

The Cloverleaf is located at 1240 Hollis Street, Bremerton.

When art and music collide

The wicked and weird of the plant world

Focusing on the weirdest members of the plant world, nationally known garden writer Amy Stewart will read from her newest book, “Wicked Plants, the Weed That Killed Lincoln’s Mother and Other Botanical Atrocities,” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct., 8. Spotlighting delicious edible plants, Seattle blogger, author and forager Langdon Cook will talk about his new book, “Fat of the Land,” and give tips and recipes for finding, harvesting and cooking edible plants found in our local fields, forests and streams, at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10. The magic of Harry Potter comes to KiDiMu

“Cauldrons and Wizards — The magic of Harry Potter,” KiDiMu’s “School of Wizardry,” is in session from 1:30- 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8. All aspiring wizards are invited to drop by and join Rubeus Hagrid, portrayed by local actor Justin Lynn, for a spellbinding lesson in everyday science. Matt Price takes the lead, then it’s open-mic time

Matt Price and Friends will play at Seabold Community Hall, 14451 Komedal Road on Bainbridge.
