Angy Parrish of Poulsbo celebrates her 100th birthday April 29, 11 a.m., at a luncheon in the Silverdale Beach Hotel.

She will be joined by 29 relatives from Arkansas, California, Maryland, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.

Parrish was born on April 29, 1911 in South Dakota, and has lived in Poulsbo since 1954. She was a 4-H leader for “40 or 50 years,” according to her daughter, Ilene Parrish Albert, and worked at the county fair.

She still lives independently, square dances every Monday, makes and sells baby quilts, and until last year volunteered in the gift shop at Martha & Mary.

Parrish has three children, two of whom are living; five grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to the April 29 celebration, a birthday reception is planned May 1, 10:30 a.m., at North Kitsap Baptist Church in Poulsbo.
