Poulsbo’s Jewel Box Theatre continues the laughs with “Catfish Moon.”

The Southern comedy was penned by award-winning playwrite Laddy Sartin.

The play is set on an old fishing pier at Cypress Lake. Once the stomping grounds for three boys coming of age, it is now the scene where the three return to share the experiences of being middle-aged.

Curley, Gordon and Frog have each experienced highs and lows since their childhood days of skipping school and skinning dipping at the pier.

The trio’s relationship becomes strained as they face a different era of their lives, especially after Frog finds out that Gordon is now dating his ex-wife.

What’s there to do to mend their fractured relationships?

A fishing trip.

Curley, Gordon and Frog embark on an overnight fishing trip, starting at the old pier, and continue on to the catch of a lifetime.

“Catfish Moon” is directed by Trina Williamson. Charlie Birdsell plays Curley, Andy Baker is Gordon, and Ashley Hurd takes on the role of Frog. Elizabeth Dangelo plays Betty.

The play shows Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. The play will continue until June 22 at the theater located at 225 Iverson St., Poulsbo.
