The Great Peninsula Conservancy continues its outdoor excursions this weekend with a wildflower walk through Guillemot Cove, May 16.

Last year, What’s Up traversed the trails of the cove in search of striking views of the Olympics only to be stymied by low hanging cloud cover.

This week, Wendy McClure of the Washington Native Plant Society returns to lead another of her always popular wildflower walks.

The walk will be approximately four hours, with lunch at the coast and a visit to the fabled “stump house” on the return trip.

Bring your wildlower books, McClure recommends “Plants of the Pacific Northwest Coast” by Pojar and Mackinnon.
