A hometown collection of fine art

Port Orchard artists Marti Green and Michele Sleight unveil newest works at Green's homet his weekend.

Once every year or two, Port Orchard artist Marti Green opens up her home for exhibition.

Putting away the breakables, putting out a kettle of tea on the stove and lining the walls with her scenic watercolor paintings, Green turns her house into a gallery for a weekend, welcoming friends and family to see her latest work.

This weekend, she and fellow local artist Michele Sleight will be unveiling their newest works, titled the “2008 Spring Collection of Fine Art,” in the same fashion, opening at 11 a.m. May 17 at 18 at chateau Green, 1278 Lidstrom Road in Port Orchard.

Sleight is a whimsically detail-oriented, pen-and-ink artist while Green is a traveling watercolorist who’ll do anything for the perfect picture.

Both Port Orchard artists, the two have been friends for years, sharing experience as well as influence and many a glass of wine. WU
