Funerals are way to connect

I just finished reading your piece on funerals in Kitsap Week (“Funerals are for the living too,” page 3, Feb. 24 Kitsap Week).

I just finished reading your piece on funerals in Kitsap Week (“Funerals are for the living too,” page 3, Feb. 24 Kitsap Week). It was very well-written, and I loved the message. I related to it personally as well as professionally too.

I think funerals are a wonderful way for us to connect with others and with our own hearts. Your article showed that beautifully. It also helped bring up a topic that is hard for many people to think about, but is one which affects us all.

I am a grief counselor with a practice in Poulsbo, so I am especially grateful for your bringing the issues of death and bereavement out into the open. Thank you for that.

If you happen to know of anyone who might benefit from grief counseling, feel free to pass my contact info along to them. My website is www.nanibaran.com, my phone number is (206) 407-3256, and my email is nani@nanibaran.com.

Thanks again for a well-written and much-needed article!
