Pizza place known for avocado crust opens in Poulsbo

It’s the 1st Oath Pizza in Washington

Oath Pizza, known for its award-winning avocado crust and fresh ingredients, recently opened its first Washington state location in Poulsbo.

The pizza joint is the first of a multi-unit deal that will expand the brand into the Northwest, a news release states. The first Oath Pizza opened in Nantucket, MA in 2015. It has 15 locations nationwide, mainly on the East Coast. Along with regular pizza, the restaurant also offers gluten-free, vegan, dairy free and plant-based options.

“There’s just nothing like this,” co-owner Brad Langford said. “We need something new. Everyone has the same old pizzas here. We’re really excited to bring the East Coast flavor over to the West Coast.”

This is only the start, as Brad said he and his wife Jennifer are looking to open 20-30 more locations across Western Washington in the next few years. Brad and Jennifer own and operate the Poulsbo location. Their two daughters also work there.

“We’re thrilled to help introduce our newest brand to Poulsbo. For us, it goes beyond serving our patrons a great product,” Brad said. “We’re a family serving other families a higher quality familiar favorite with fresh ingredients, better flavors, infinite personalization and convenience.” The family has a long-standing history in restaurant and franchise ownership, the release says.

What sets this pizza place apart from others in the area is the dough and sauce, Brad said. Oath also partners with Applegate Farms, so everything is humanely raised.

“The dough is grilled and then we sear it with avocado oil, which gives it that extra flavor and it’s crispy,” he said. “We make our sauce in-house every single day.”

Brad served as the franchisee of multiple locations for different brands during most of his career, while Jennifer grew up in the franchising industry, as her family has a history with Taco John’s and McDonald’s. They have lived in Poulsbo for the last 15 years.

The Oath Pizza in Poulsbo is located at 21505 Market Place NW. The store’s hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. While indoor seating is limited to a few tables, Brad said they will be adding more in the future. Customers can also place take-out or delivery orders at oathpizza.com or the Oath Pizza app.

Including the franchise fee, the initial investment for an Oath Pizza franchise is between $380,000-$550,000, per the release.
