Money seminar begins Sept. 11 at New Covenant

Financial Peace University is hosting a nine-week course on budgeting, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing

POULSBO — Financial Peace University, a nine-week course on budgeting, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing, begins Sept. 11, 6:30 p.m., at New Covenant Fellowship, 18960 Highway 305, Poulsbo.

Call Bob Smith, (360) 620-7001, to register.

Since its inception in 1994, Financial Peace University has helped more than 1.5 million families nationwide positively change their financial future, according to organizers. Through common-sense principles and small-group accountability, the program gives people the tools they need to change their behavior and succeed financially.

On average, families who complete the series pay off $5,300 and save $2,700 in the first 90 days, according to organizers. Following the class, nearly 94 percent of those families budget regularly.

“FPU will not only transform the way you handle money, but also your marriage and other areas of your life,” said Dave Ramsey, author and creator of the program.

“This isn’t a boring financial class. We make learning about money fun and easy to understand so people in every situation can benefit from the information.”
