Spencer promoted to Westsound Bank VP

Bremerton-based Westsound Bank, the operating subsidiary of WSB Financial Group, announced the promotion of Sean Spencer to vice president and commercial loan officer.

Spencer, a 33-year resident of Kitsap County who currently resides in Port Orchard with his wife Angela, their young daughter Eva and soon-to-arrive son, has been a commercial loan officer with Westsound Bank since June 2005. Spencer is a former professional baseball player who pitched for the Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos and the Baltimore Orioles. He also pitched for the Greek Olympic team in the 2004 Athens Olympics.

He is a member of the Port Orchard Rotary and Port Orchard Chamber.

Gurnsey joins Wave Business Solutions

Wave Business Solutions, a division of a Kirkland-based cable, internet and phone services company, announced that Billi Jean Gurnsey, formerly of Wave Media Services, has joined Wave’s Business Solutions team. Gurnsey will now work with small- to medium-sized businesses to match their business phone, internet and hospitality TV needs to Wave’s business solutions. Gurnsey also will continue to serve Wave’s local clients’ marketplace advertising needs.

Gurnsey comes from a diverse sales background ranging from retail department store sales and management to newspaper, radio and cable TV advertising sales and management.

Gurnsey is active on various boards and committees including the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Kitsap County, Soroptimist International of Port Orchard, the Port Orchard Yacht Club and the Bremerton Elks.

Crowe and Day join KPS Health Plans

KPS Health Plans recently announced the arrival of two new employees.

Channon Crowe joined KPS as provider network executive and will lead contract negotiations, renewals, network relationships and the provider relations staff. Crowe brings 15 years of experience in the health plan industry and most recently spent five years as a provider network executive with Premera.

Denese Day is KPS’ new senior training and development specialist. She spent most of her career in training and leadership development and has worked for American Airlines, Sato Travel and Expedia.

Bremerton auto dealers earn AAA Top Shop awards

Bremerton Dodge; L&R Automotive; Peninsula Subaru and Peninsula Suzuki in Bremerton; Liberty Bay Auto and North Kitsap Auto Rebuild in Poulsbo; and Bay Ford and Grey Chevrolet in Port Orchard earned AAA Top Shop awards.

Each year, AAA Washington evaluates the quality of repair work, courtesy of employees and the shop cleanliness of each AAA Approved Auto Repair facility in Washington and northern Idaho. Measured by customer satisfaction surveys and feedback, the “best of the best” earn a AA Top Shop award. The facilities that earn this honor typically have received customer satisfaction rates close to 100 percent during the last calendar year.

Before being eligible for a Top Shop award, Bremerton Dodge; L&R Automotive; Peninsula Subaru and Peninsula Suzuki in Bremerton; Liberty Bay Auto and North Kitsap Auto Rebuild in Poulsbo; and Bay Ford and Grey Chevrolet in Port Orchard met precise standards needed to be part of the AAA Approved Auto Repair network.
