A man was arrested in Bremerton Monday after allegedly attempting to stab his wife.
According to the Bremerton Police Department incident report, Raymundo Manuel Montejo grabbed his wife by the throat and strangled her in their kitchen. He also allegedly kneed her in the stomach, documents read. Montejo’s wife told police that he had been intoxicated, which led to an argument.
The couple’s two children were in a bedroom in the house but were not hurt in the incident, according to the Bremerton Police Department. After Montejo attempted to stab his wife in the stomach with a kitchen knife, he cut himself and dropped the knife. Once Montejo left the scene, his wife called 911.
Montejo was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in the first degree. His bail is set for $250,000.
