PORT ORCHARD — A sedan and possibly another vehicle collided Saturday night, Aug. 4, at the intersection of Sidney and Tremont streets, sending one car into a traffic light signal box at the north side of the intersection.

Nobody was reported to be injured in the accident at around 6 p.m., but when Port Orchard Police arrived, officers found that damage to the traffic control box was severe enough to have cut power to the traffic signal. The control box had been knocked off its base at the north side of Sidney and Tremont.

Cones were set up to redirect traffic around the accident until a tow truck arrived shortly after to take away the damaged sedan. It wasn’t immediately known when the traffic signals would be back in operation.
