After receiving numerous complaints about “unsightly” sandwich board signs along the State Route 305 corridor Poulsbo Mayor Becky Erickson announced the city will begin enforcing its sign code.
Sandwich board signs exceeding six square feet in size are prohibited within city limits, and those meeting size regulations must be placed on privately owned business property, according to city code.
The city typically enforces its sign code on a complaint basis.
Erickson said business owners have six weeks to contact the planning department and learn how they can be in compliance before enforcement begins. Once it does, signs not in compliance will be removed. Contact the planning department at (360) 779-3901.
