POULSBO — Charles Wilbur “Bill” Lomas, 88, died April 16 at Harbor House Memory Care Community in Poulsbo. Celebration of life May 1, 2 p.m., Gateway Fellowship in Poulsbo.

Born July 21, 1923 in Hinsdale, Ill., to Arthur G. and Mildred O. Lomas. Grew up in Western Springs, attended schools in La Grange, Ill.; earned a BS from North Central College in Naperville, MBA in production management at University of Chicago.

Married Shirley E. Best March 22, 1952 in Elgin, Ill., moved to the Pacific Northwest, built a home in Lofall and raised two children. Retired from NUWES Keyport in 1983 as supervisory distribution facilities specialist and lead quality circles facilitator. Served in WWII as a Navy aviator, retired as a captain from the Naval Reserve.

Very involved in his children’s activities, coaching sports, family hikes, flying adventures in his Republic Seabee amphibious airplane. Director for eight years of Olympic Savings & Loan, Bremerton; founding member and president, Lofall Community Corporation; executive officer, Association of Naval Aviators-Olympic Squadron; volunteer, Christ the King Academy and Christ Memorial Church.

Preceded in death by his wife and an infant son. Survived by daughter, Adrianne (Roger) Kinzie; son, Scott (Sherry) Lomas; granddaughters Carolyn (Cory) Brockman, Kelcie and Katie Lomas; sister, Patricia (George) Coy of Mantorville, Minn.; many nieces and nephews.

Memorials preferred to Gateway Christian School or Children’s Hospital.
