An 18-year-old Bremerton man was instructed to apologize to his neighbors Oct. 31 after nearly hitting them with BB gun pellets from his bedroom window.
Two men in the 1100 block of High Ave. told police at 7:35 p.m. that they were standing outside their house when they heard the sound of air rifle popping from across the street and heard pellets whizzing by that hit the tree next to them, according to police reports.
Officers contacted an 18-year-old man in the house across the street, who admitted to having an air rifle. He showed police the weapon and the pellets behind his bed. He told police he was shooting at a white sign across the street. The gun and pellets were confiscated and officers took the man outside to apologize to his neighbors.
Charges of reckless endangerment were forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
