Sunken boat leaks five gallons of gasoline in Kingston’s Apple Tree Cove

KINGSTON — A 24-foot fishing boat sank in Apple Tree Cove on Saturday morning, spilling about five gallons of gasoline into the bay.

The sinking and spill were reported at 8:30 a.m. according to a statement from the state Department of Ecology. The boat was carrying up to 60 gallons of fuel. Responders surrounded the boat with a spill containment boom. The vessel was later pulled onto shore, according to Ecology.
