Roundabout coming soon to Noll Road

Construction is set to start the first week of July on the Noll Road/Lincoln Road roundabout.

POULSBO — Construction is set to start the first week of July on the Noll Road/Lincoln Road roundabout.

Bids are opening June 22, with an estimated budget of $800,000. Construction of the roundabout, plus raingardens and other stormwater mitigation, should last two months. The city is aiming to be finished before the 2012-13 school year.

The project funds come from a $450,000 grant from Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council, $100,000 from Kitsap County, and the rest from city funds. The project will include street lighting and a new “Welcome to Poulsbo” sign.

The city will reopen the bids for the Safe Routes to School Program, after two of the four bids were rejected over technicalities. That project, estimated at $310,000, will reopen for bids June 29. Construction is still set to begin July 23 and will last 30 days.
