A man bailing water from his boat in the Sinclair Inlet was rescued by a Puget Sound Naval Shipyard security Dec. 30.

The man called 911 at about 1:36 p.m., saying his 12-foot boat was half full of water and sinking, Bremerton Fire Department Batallion Chief Todd Thorsen said.

Two boats were called to the scene — the Marine 10 based in Kingston and a shipyard security boat — but the Marine 10 was called off when the shipyard boat reached the man and towed his boat to the shore near the ferry terminal.

The boater was found safe and no medical aid was needed.
