BREMERTON — A 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following a pedestrian-vehicle crash that occurred at 6:04 a.m. A Mazda 3, being driven by a Bremerton-area man, was westbound in the inside lane of Kitsap Way, just east of Morgan Road NW, when the car struck the pedestrian who was crossing southbound across Kitsap Way.

The driver said that he saw nothing before the impact. The pedestrian was not transported to the hospital. Initial indications are that the pedestrian had been at the McDonald’s restaurant on the north side of the road and was crossing from that location, across four lanes of morning traffic with no crosswalk. Investigating officers report that the driver showed no signs of impairment, and he was alone in the vehicle. The driver is voluntarily providing a blood test.

Bremerton Police Department Traffic officers are investigating the crash. The deceased pedestrian’s address is in West Bremerton.
