Auto dealers raise $60,046 for cancer research

West Hills Auto Plex raised $60,046 this October to be donated to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. The sum is $20,000 more than the previous year.

BREMERTON – West Hills Auto Plex raised $60,046 this October to be donated to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. The sum is  $20,000 more than the previous year.

According to Fred Hutch, one in three women will get cancer in their lifetime and breast cancer ranks as the most common form of cancer. This hit close to home for the Auto Plex as employees and employee family members have been diagnosed or are currently fighting the battle. With these facts, West Hills Auto Plex designated October to improving the lives of those who have fought or are fighting breast cancer.

During breast cancer awareness month, in October, West Hills Auto Plex donated $25 for each vehicle purchased, donated $5 for every service repair order, offered customers the opportunity to match the donation made, raised awareness for breast cancer with pink wrist bands, pink ribbons, and pink t-shirts, and raised funds online via GoFundMe.

The West Hills Auto Plex comprises five auto dealerships consisting of Heartland Toyota Scion, Haselwood Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, West Hills Honda, West Hills Kia, and West Hills Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge. All dealerships partnered for the fundraiser.
