The Bremerton Police Department released a statement today notifying the community of a level three sex offender living in Bremerton.

Johnathon A. Soto, 23, will reside in the 200 block of Sheridan Road in Bremerton. He was convicted in 2008 in Kitsap County of rape of a child in the second degree. Soto is 6-feet tall, 210 pounds with brown hair.

Bremerton Police have no authority to dictate where a sex offender may live, according to the release. Bremerton Police urges the public to refrain from abusing or harassing sex offenders as it could potentially end their ability to do community notifications, the release said.

The Bremerton Police Department Community Resource Unit is available to help set up neighborhood watches and to provide  information on personal safety, according to the release. If you have information regarding current criminal activity, please contact the Bremerton Police Department.
