1st day of school before Labor Day for NKSD students

The first day of school for most students in the North Kitsap School District arrives before Labor Day as grades 1-12 begin Aug. 27 while kindergarten starts Sept. 3

Other notable dates include winter break from Dec. 23 through Jan. 3 while spring break is April 7-11.

Holidays when no school will be held include: Labor Day (Aug. 30, Sept. 2), Veterans Day (Nov. 11), Thanksgiving (Nov. 28), Native American Heritage Day (Nov. 29), Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 20), Presidents Day (Feb. 17) and Memorial Day (May 26). Students are also off Jan. 27 for semester transition.

Parent-teacher conferences will be held Oct. 23-25 and April 2-4. Half days will be Nov. 27, Dec. 20, Feb. 27-28, and the last day of school June 17.

The school board approved the schedule in May.
