PORT ORCHARD — National Night Out, a nationwide community crime prevention awareness event, will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at the Port Orchard Boat Launch.

Food, musical entertainment and expert information will be provided for visitors to the event at the boat launch, across from City Hall in Port Orchard.

U.S. Navy and police response boats will be on hand at the boat launch. Also on site will be members of the Fathoms O’ Fun Festival Royalty Court, search and rescue canines, tables with crime prevention informational materials, and first responders who can answer questions posed by visitors.

Law enforcement members from Port Orchard Police Department, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, South Kitsap Fire and Rescue and Washington State Patrol also will be at the site.
