BREMERTON — During regular systems check on Wednesday at Naval Base Kitsap an active shooter announcement was inadvertently triggered, a Navy spokesman said.
An active shooter announcement went out on the loudspeaker at the base in Bremerton, said Jake Chappelle, a Naval Base Public Affairs Officer. But all conditions are normal.
The Bremerton Police Department erroneously dispatched officers to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and confirmed with the emergency operations center a short time later that there was no emergency on the base.
