Gateway Eagles Elementary School held a Veterans Day chapel to honor former and active duty service members.

Second-grade teacher Linda Hemry presented a quilt of valor to Jeff Mitchell during the event. Mitchell served in the Marine Corps for eight years.

Students’ family members were invited to the event as well. Navy Electronics Technician Jeffrey Snow was in the crowd, holding his daughter Oceana, 1.
