BREMERTON — The City of Bremerton will celebrate Olympic gold medalist Nathan Adrian at a community event 5:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Bremerton High School’s Performing Arts Center.

Adrian was born and raised in Bremerton and graduated from Bremerton High School. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, he won two gold medals and two bronze medals in swimming events. At the 2012 London Olympics, he won two gold medals and one silver medal; in the 2008 Beijing Olympics he won a gold medal.

Elaine Valencia, executive assistant to Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent, reported that Adrian will be driven in a convertible from east Bremerton to west Bremerton between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m., across the Manette Bridge and then up 11th Street to Bremerton High School.

The celebration in the Performing Arts Center is open to the public and residents will have the opportunity to hear Adrian speak about his experiences at the Olympics, take pictures and receive an autographed photo.
