Tutus and sparkles recommended for Girls on the Run’s Spring 5K

SILVERDALE – Girls on the Run of WestSound will be hosting its Spring 5K run in conjunction with Central Kitsap High School Alumni Association’s Cougar Prowl on Saturday, June 6, at 9 a.m. The run will take place on the Clear Creek Trail.

Girls on the Run of WestSound’s mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Girls on the Run of WestSound had its inaugural season in the Spring of 2014 and has served 355 girls in grades 3-5 in Kitsap County, Mason County and the Peninsula School District in Gig Harbor.

Each girl will run with their own running buddy to encourage them as they run, walk, or skip 3.1 miles.

The event will also include a Happy Hair station, photo booth, face painting and a “Chase the Cougar” 1K run.
