Driver allegedly falls asleep on Highway 3, woman injured in crash

POULSBO — A driver who fell asleep at the wheel on Highway 3 sent another driver to the hospital in the early morning hours of Oct. 10.
A 25-year-old Bremerton man was traveling northbound on Highway 3 at 5:43 a.m. As he approached Finn Hill in the left lane, he fell asleep at the wheel, according to a report from Washington State Patrol.
The Bremerton man’s car then drifted into the right lane where it collided with the rear end of a car driven by a 22-year-old Kingston woman.
The woman came away from the collision with undisclosed injuries. She was transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
Washington State Patrol found the Bremerton man at fault and are recommending charges of negligent driving.
