On Tuesday, a driver of a 1998 BMW 740i was signaled by other drivers to pull over when they noticed the back of his vehicle on fire. The driver of the gold car pulled over into an East Bremerton Chevron gas station where he tried to extinguish the trunk fire with a rag and a half bottle of iced tea.

The call came in at 2:09 p.m., according to Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue officials. Engine and Medic 41 responded. The County Fire Marshal was called as well as Chico Towing.

There were no injuries and no other cars involved.
